“The reason the REG scholars class of 2021 choose Tim Berners-Lee as our class name is because he is an English engineer and computer scientist is who is credited as being the inventor of the World Wide Web. Everyone in our class is born as a millennial or generation Z. Being a part of these generations, we have an important understanding of the significance and impact the World Wide Web can have on our lives and the lives of others. In relation to us being global scholars, we want to use all resources possible in order to promote cultural awareness and global engagement to the world around us. Using the internet allows our impacts to reach a broader and further impact. The name Berner’s-Lee is significant to our class because it represents the technologic generation we live in and how we can use that, along with traditional means, to promote a strong global impact locally and globally.”
