“We chose the name Adams after Harriet Chalmers Adams. She was an American photographer, explorer, and writer. We chose her because, as a woman in the early 20th century, she was able to do so much. She broke all the boundaries set by society and was an admirable individual because she was so independent and adventurous. Fun fact: she was the only female journalist permitted to visit the trenches in WW I. She traveled extensively throughout her life and we chose her (apart from the fact that her letter started with an A) because, as the first class, we want to go out and make a difference in the NSU campus. We want to go above and beyond the standards established. It also applies to us because we want to travel to different places and have adventures that will serve us later in life.”
