Nova Southeastern University is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its community members. To achieve this goal, NSU has developed a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) that outlines a strategic approach to emergency management.
This CEMP addresses all phases of emergency management, including:
- Mitigation: Identifying and reducing risks through prevention and protection measures.
- Preparedness: Developing plans and procedures to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Response: Implementing coordinated actions to minimize the impact of emergencies.
- Recovery: Restoring essential services and rebuilding infrastructure after an emergency.
All NSU community members, including faculty, staff, and students, are encouraged to:
- Understand their roles and responsibilities: Familiarize themselves with the CEMP, ERG, and relevant campus and unit emergency plans.
- Complete required training and participate in exercises.
- Consider National Incident Management System (NIMS) training: Enhance emergency management skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to emergency management efforts: Actively participate in drills, exercises, and planning activities.
By working together, we can strengthen NSU's resilience and preparedness for emergencies.
