Aflac Group Plans

Aflac supplemental insurance plans are designed to provide additional financial protection by covering expenses that may not be fully paid for by your primary health insurance. These plans offer cash benefits paid directly to the policyholder (unless otherwise assigned) to help with out-of-pocket costs related to various medical events or other situations. Aflac plans are often chosen to complement existing health insurance and provide peace of mind.

Aflac Group Accident Insurance is designed to help cover the expenses associated with an accidental injury, such as a medical plan deductible. This accident insurance pays direct cash benefits for emergency treatment, hospitalizations, specific injury treatments, diagnostic exams, and accidental death.

Aflac Accident Insurance Plan Summary

Aflac Group Critical Illness coverage is designed to pay cash benefits should you (or a covered family member) be diagnosed with a critical illness. This insurance helps protect your income and personal assets when your out-of-pocket expenses increase as a result of a specified critical illness.

Covered illnesses include cancer, heart attack (myocardial infarction), stroke, kidney failure, end-stage renal failure (ESRD), major organ transplant, bone marrow transplant (stem cell transplant), sudden cardiac arrest, coronary artery bypass surgery, non-invasive cancer, and skin cancer. 

 

Eligibility

NSU employees, their spouses, and children up to age 26 can enroll.

 

Benefit Highlights**

  • Guaranteed Issue, No Health Questions: Receive a $10,000 benefit without answering health questions.
  • No Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions: Coverage for pre-existing conditions is included.**
  • 100% Benefit Payout: Collect the full enrolled benefit amount for diagnosed illnesses and recurrences.
  • Tax-Free Lump Sum: Benefits are paid tax-free as a one-time lump sum.
  • Supplemental Coverage: Benefits are paid in addition to other insurance benefits. 

**Children are automatically covered at 50%.
**Benefit restrictions will apply for cancer treatments or diagnosis in the prior 12 months.
**Rates will vary depending on your selected coverage and will be available during your enrollment process.

Aflac Critical Illness Plan Summary

An unexpected or even planned stay in the hospital can be expensive as you meet your medical plan's deductible and out-of-pocket obligations. The Aflac Group Hospital Indemnity plan is designed to provide financial protection, paying you a direct benefit to meet out-of-pocket expenses and extra bills that may occur. Lump sum benefits are paid directly to you based on the type of facility and the number of days of confinement.
