NSU Oceanographic Center Celebrates Its Students of the Year

A Special Visit to the Boy Scouts
Educational and community outreach is one of the missions of
NSU and the Oceanographic Center. The OC goes on the road
to introduce all ages of the public to marine life, marine
ecosystems, and current research projects. For more

Students announce 2012
Shutter Shark Winners
In late fall 2012, the student government association hosted its
fifth annual Shutter Shark competition. Students submitted to
five categories: Seascape/Wide Angle, Macro, Conservation,
Black and White, and Topside. More than 200 photos were
submitted. The winning photos can be seen in the café of the
Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Research.

, Ph.D. candidate,
received the 2013 Oceanographic
Center Student of the Year Award
as part of NSU’s Student Life
Achievement Awards (the STUEYS).
Bernhard received her award on
April 16. The 2012 winner was
Travis Moore
, M.S. student. Both
students were recognized for their
contributions to building a greater
sense of community and campus
