James Richards is a Communications Manager in Nova Southeastern University’s Public Relations, Marketing, and Creative Services Division. In his role, he is responsible for utilizing various communications tools, mediums, and technologies to advance the visibility, reputation, and overall mission of NSU.
James has more than 14 years of marketing, communications, public information and outreach experience in both public and private sector organizations. Before joining NSU, he worked at enterprise software company Cloud Software Group focusing on internal communications and sales enablement. Prior to his work in the tech industry, James worked for Miami-Dade County’s Department of Solid Waste Management and Broward County’s Parks and Recreation Division, assisting with public information and outreach of the departments’ services, programs, facilities and events to residents and customers.
Raised in Broward County, James received a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from Florida State University and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife and four children, and in his spare time enjoys cooking, rooting for his favorite sports teams, playing board games, and spending time with his family.
