The Public Relations, Marketing, and Creative Services’ (PR & Marketing) media relations team is committed to developing, strengthening, and fostering positive relationships among NSU, the greater South Florida community, and news outlets around the state, nation, and world.
Our media relations team conducts a variety of activities, communications, and community-relations initiatives designed to strengthen the NSU brand, advance the university’s mission, and promote its achievements, research, reputation, academic programs, and events via the news media. We use multiple methods and platforms to tell the NSU story including news releases, social media, and multimedia.
All representatives from the media are required to obtain permission from PR & Marketing prior to visiting campus. Journalists may only take photographs and video footage or conduct interviews on Nova Southeastern University's campus or inside any of its buildings when accompanied by a member of the public relations team.

As Florida’s largest private research university, NSU has numerous expert faculty available for interviews and comment to media working on a variety of story topics. NSU’s subject matter experts come from diverse fields including business, health care, marine biology, computer science, education, international relations, art, politics, and more. To request an interview with one of our experts, please contact a member from our media relations team.
NSU’s media relations team handles emergency communications for the university, in conjunction with other university officials as well as emergency response personnel, where applicable. We work to provide internal and external parties with accurate and timely information.
PR & Marketing is responsible for coordinating NSU’s social media strategy. The social media team generates content and key messaging and manages, monitors, and evaluates the university’s official social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. We aim to create engaging content that generates excitement about the NSU Shark community, share our points of pride, and encourage our audiences to share their Shark Pride with their social circles.
Please do NOT submit requests for social media posts through Robohead without first going through PR/Marketing’s organic social media team, led by James Profetto, social media content manager, at jprofett@nova.edu, for review, guidance and approvals.
