Geriatrics at NSU
Geriatric Medicine is a specialty devoted to providing holistic, comprehensive care to adults 65 years of age or older and to younger individuals with chronic medical and functional problems that may lead them to be physiologically older. The geriatric approach entails assessment of all aspects of patients’ lives: physical, functional, cognitive and social. The specialty emphasizes an interdisciplinary, holistic approach to the care of the patient.

NSU/Broward General Medical Center's Geriatric Fellowship Program
The goal of the Geriatric Fellowship is to provide patient-centered care that is appropriate, compassionate, and effective for treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. The Geriatric Fellow is involved in consultations and primary care in outpatient, inpatient, clinic, home and nursing home settings. Clinical experiences are provided by an interprofessional team including physicians, nurses, social workers and volunteers.
