Edge Advising Resources

Want to check out the video you saw in your UNIV1000 class again? Or maybe you missed class the day it was shown? Check out the video below:

Did you know that you have an assigned Edge Adviser (also called a Career + Academic Success Coach) who will help you ensure you're on track to achieve your academic and career goals throughout your undergraduate career?

Not sure who your Edge Adviser is? Good news - it's easy to find out who your assigned Edge Adviser is!
Just go to DegreeWorks and run a degree audit.

Then look for your Edge Adviser's name near the top left side of your audit, as shown in the screenshot below:

It's important that all NSU Sharks have an Edge Plan to ensure they're on track to achieve their academic and professional goals. Just follow the steps below to get started on yours!

1. Watch the video below

It will provide you with an overview of the academic planning process, which is the first step in putting your Edge Plan together.

2. Download the Academic Planner

This Excel sheet is an easy way to organize all of the information you'll need to create your own customized, academic plan.

4. Print a degree audit from DegreeWorks

You can find DegreeWorks in SharkLink, which is accessible here:  https://sharklink.nova.edu/. Access your audit in DegreeWorks and print a copy - this will be useful during the creation of your Academic Plan!

5. Review the video and draft an Academic Plan

Return to the video from step #1 and work through it step-by-step until you have a draft academic plan completed.

6. Meet with your Edge Advisor to review your plan and make adjustments

You can make an appointment with your Edge Adviser in Navigate or by calling the Center for Academic + Professional Success at 954.262.7990.

Be sure to write down questions you have as you build your draft plan and bring them to your appointment with your Edge Adviser!
