USTUD IO 19 USCHOOL ARTS The Media is a powerful force in the modern world, with many platforms to widely distribute news, entertainment, art, and thoughtful commentary to the public. The next generation of media creators is eager to add their voices to the global conversation. With the right skills and experience in quality media production, our students will be prepared to channel their ideas and talents into meaningful, well-crafted content that informs, influences, and inspires audiences around the world. That’s why UStudio, NSU University School’s cutting-edge multimedia production program, is the passion project of our new Director of Arts, Danny Swerdlow (’97). The program has grown exponentially in the past year and will continue to evolve over the next few years. “UStudio provides our students with an innovative, hybrid learning experience that combines best practices in student- centric education with the ever-evolving roles, responsibilities, and demands of real-world creative workplaces,” Swerdlow said. The students participating in UStudio are creating professional-level video, audio, and marketing content for the studio’s number one client: NSU University School. WUTV News Station Through WUTV, our students perform all the functions of a broadcast studio with the autonomy to make creative decisions, identify relevant content, and contribute to the news station’s long- term vision. WUTV students cover school events, create news content, and deliver a daily news program. “Our goal is for WUTV to become the global leader in student broadcast journalism, setting the standard for news that is student centered and child-friendly,” said Swerdlow. He continued, “We nurture student passion by exposing them to media-rich environments and by creating experiential learning opportunities both on and off campus.
