10 UPPER SCHOOL “Experiential learning is a priority at USchool as well as at NSU,” said Jaimie Crawford, M.Ed., director of Student Academic Services. “We are working together [with NSU undergraduate, graduate, and professional school educators] to provide USchool students with exceptional experiences. Since our very first fellowship with NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, we have been inspired by its success to create additional fellowship opportunities with the Department of Writing and Communication within NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.” Inaugural cohort of the NSU Shepard Broad College of Law Fellowship (pictured, L–R): Matthew Frank, Jordan Levine, Mitchell Jaeger, Madison Epstein, Jack Flairty, Grace Rivero, Asher Jurman, and Carla Torres-Viladegut Inearly February, our LawFellows attendeda judicial roundtable at the Broward County Courthouse, where they engaged in discussion with first-year law students from the NSU Shepard Broad College of Law and several Broward County judges. The judges spoke about the most important qualities of legal writing, then led breakout groups to discuss issues of ethics and tact in an assigned scenario. The roundtable wrapped with a debrief of each breakout group’s conclusions, followed by a short reception.
