9 UPPER SCHOOL The inaugural cohort of the NSU Shepard Broad College of Law Fellowship is composed of eight high-achievingNSUUniversity School juniors and seniors who share a passion for law, civil rights, and social justice. These future activists and advocates, lawmakers, judges, civil servants, and legal practitioners are participating in a unique learning experience that grants them access to current law student mentors, experienced legal professionals, and the real-world applications of their classroom education. To qualify for the Law Fellowship program, USchool students must express an interest in the subjects of law and advocacy, excel in advanced English courses, and successfully complete the application/interview process. The Law Fellowship program is led by Heather Baxter, J.D., professor at the NSU Shepard Broad College of Law; Clinton Hough, M.A., USchool Upper School history teacher; Samantha Nelson, our director of experiential learning; Jaimie Crawford, M.Ed., our director of Student Academic Services; as well as current NSU Law students who are members of the Moot Court Society.
