NSU University School Viewpoint Spring 2018

The first-ever alumni reunion musical, The Tradition Continues , took place in December 2008. Alumni pulled off the truly remarkable task of producing a musical revue with only one night to rehearse before opening night. It took a year of planning, organizing, and copying CDs—this was before Google Drive and Dropbox—but the USchool arts community came together (remotely) to prepare for the big day. They learned their lines independently, prepared their songs with the help of prerecorded harmony and melody tracks, and had less than 48 hours before the big show to put it all together. It was a smash hit! We are proud to announce the ten-year anniversary of the alumni reunion musical revue! The steering committee members— Nicole Prouty (‘94), Danny Swerdlow (‘97), Landon Knoblock (‘00), Samantha Leibowitz Laney (‘08), Tyler Laurence (‘11), and Nikki Macrini Forrester (‘01)—are already hard at work organizing what will be another hit show. So many who were involved in the first show are returning, and we are proud to welcome some of our recent alumni to showcase their talents. A one-night-only performance will be held at the AutoNation Center for the Arts on NSU University School’s main campus on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and all proceeds will benefit the Bunny Blattner Fund for the Arts.
