January 19, 2021 | nsucurrent.nova.edu 3 News News Briefs Get the scoop on events happening on campus and around campus Inclusion Awareness Fair On Thursday, Jan. 21, the Office of Student Disability Services and the Graduate Association of School Psychology (GrASP) will hold an interactive fair on the topic of inclusion at the Library Quad from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. The goal of the fair is to not only teach students how to promote inclusion within the NSU community, but also explore the resources that are available to NSU students. President’s 64 nominations open Nominations are now open for the 2021-2022 President’s 64 body. The President’s 64 serves as a group of student leaders whose main purpose is to strengthen the relationship between NSU and its surrounding community. Students who are a part of this body provide feedback directly to President Handbury and serve as student ambassadors at NSU events. Nominations can be completed by NSU faculty, a staff member or a current member of President’s 64. Nominations will close on Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. For more information, students can contact The Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement or email presidents64@ nova.edu. 6th Annual Virtual Power Publishing Day Nominations are open for the 2021- 2022 President’s 64 body. Peer Leader program open for applications The Office of Experiential Education and Learning is now hiring Peer Leaders for Fall 2021. Peer Leaders act as teaching assistants for UNIV 1000 and provide freshman students with a unique interpersonal classroom experience to ensure that they are prepared for success for their first semester at NSU. As a Peer Leader, students have the opportunity to learn and practice a variety of different skills such as leadership, communication, classroom management and conflict resolution. The application is open now until March 5. Juan Pablo Correa Memorial Scholarship open Students have the chance to apply for the Juan Pablo Correal Memorial Scholarship now through Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. This scholarship is exclusive for undergraduate international students and those interested in applying can do so at nova.edu/stueys under the designated section of the site.
