11 2021 NOMINEES FOR Administrator of the Year Seth T. Mangasarian, M.S.C.E.—Facilities Management Seth T. Mangasarian joined NSU as the director of physical plant in 2015. Prior to joining, he retired from the United States Navy after 21 years of active-duty service. Over this past year, there have been two especially significant honors and contributions that Mangasarian is proud to have been a part of. The first was successfully ensuring that Physical Plant has helped to keep the NSU community as safe as possible during the pandemic. This included assuring PPE distribution and improved air filtration. The second source of pride for Mangasarian is NSU achieving the Bronze award from the AASHE STARS program. This achievement was a collaboration through Physical Plant from all departments across the university for sustainability efforts NSU is providing throughout the community. Monica M. Paneque, M.B.A.—H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship Monica Paneque began working for NSU in 2009. Since then, she has held various roles in admissions, marketing, and corporate and alumni relations throughout the university. Currently, she is serving as the founding director of the Huizenga Business Innovation Academy, working with entrepreneurial students as they pursue an accelerated dual-degree program while following their dreams of opening a business. Paneque also serves as the chapter adviser to NSU’s Collegiate DECA student organization, which prepares students from all majors for careers in business through national competitions. What she finds most rewarding about working at NSU is being able to follow students on their journey from admission to graduation and seeing their transformations through the years. Paneque holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University. Go Sharks! Adee Shekar, M.B.A.—Division of Business Services Adee Shekar has been affiliated with Nova Southeastern University since 2003, when she began working as a temporary employee at the NSU Bookstore. In 2006, she joined the Division of Business Services and now works as director, overseeing multiple auxiliary units, including Shark Dining and vending, the bookstore, mail services, and the travel office. Shekar is a proud Shark, having earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration while working full-time at the university. She believes her greatest contribution, and the most rewarding aspect of her current role, is connecting with and mentoring students and helping them grow personally and professionally during their time at NSU. Jaime Gentile—Office of Innovation and Information Technology Jaime Gentile started with NSU in 2013 and joined the Office of Innovation and Information Technology in 2016 as director of employee services. The most rewarding aspects of her position are working with phenomenal team members who truly value and respect each other, while striving for continuous improvement. Her development has been greatly enhanced working for a great leader, VP TomWest. Gentile is an honored recipient of NSU’s Humanitarian Award for Day of Service for her involvement in a university-wide community-service event. Her most gratifying experiences have involved her role at OIIT, COVID safety, and directing various NSU community-service projects. She is proud to be a Shark and is very thankful for the opportunities she has received while at NSU. Graciela M. Armayor, Pharm.D.—NSU Tampa Bay Regional Campus Graciela Armayor is director of curriculum development and assistant professor in the Department of Sociobehavioral and Administrative Pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy. She has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from NSU. Armayor completed a residency in Internal Medicine/Cardiology at the University of Florida/Veteran’s Administration Hospital and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. She has been a faculty member at NSU since 1990, assuming the roles of faculty/course coordinator, Tampa site facilitator, and director of curriculum. Her research interests include development/evaluation of delivery and assessment methods in health care education. Armayor considers NSU her home. She values NSU’s commitment to academic excellence, and student and community centeredness. Inspiring students is the most rewarding part of her job.
