ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS Prospective students are selected by the Committee on Admissions, which considers the overall qualities of applicants and their suitability for this course of study. Areas of consideration include • application content • academic record • ASHA certification and state licensure • letters of recommendation • personal interview To be considered for admission, an applicant must have • a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited college or university and a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology • a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale from a master’s degree in speech-language pathology • a scaled score of 391–396 on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or a score of 300 (combined verbal and quantitative score) on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); test must have been taken within the past five years prior to application • a current speech-language pathology state license • a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology FOR NONNATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS Applicants whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate English proficiency. The standardized tests listed below satisfy the university’s English require- ment for nonnative English speakers. • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 213 on the computer-based or 79–80 on the Internet-based test • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum score of 6.0 on the test module • Pearson Test of English—Academic: minimum score of 54 • American College Test (ACT): a score of at least 20 on the verbal section FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS International students must present verification of a student visa or residency status.
