4 STUDENT GUIDE Osteopathic Medicine Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program will have the opportunity to visit the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and tour the facilities. Faculty and administrators will conduct formal interviews in small groups, and the questions will focus on challenges in medical school, exemplary qualities of a physician, and strategies for success. Application materials, test scores, and transcripts will be reviewed in advance of the interviews. The small-group interview and tour will last approximately 90 minutes in total. Pharmacy Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy program will have the opportunity to visit the Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy. The associate dean and/or college admissions officer will conduct formal interviews in a group of five or less students. The questions will focus on the candidate’s interpersonal skills, the understanding of the profession, and the ability to articulate your level of interest in the field. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. Physical Therapy Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program will have the opportunity to visit the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences. A physical therapy faculty member will conduct formal interviews in a group of five or less students. The questions will focus on a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the field and the options within it. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. Physician Assistant Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant program will have the opportunity to visit the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences. A physician assistant faculty member will conduct formal interviews in a group of five or less students. The questions will focus on the understanding of the physician assistant profession and passion for health care. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. Psychology Students interviewing for Dual Admission to one of the graduate programs in the College of Psychology will interview with psychology faculty members in small groups of two or oneonone. The questions will focus on a candidate’s career goals and interest in psychology, specific to the program of interest. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. Public Health Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Master of Public Health program will have the opportunity to visit the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and tour the facilities. Faculty and administrators will conduct formal interviews in small groups. Application materials, test scores, and transcripts will be reviewed in advance of the interviews. The smallgroup interview and tour will last approximately one hour in total. Speech-Language Pathology Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology will interview with the program director in the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences, either one- on-one or in a small group of three or less. The questions will focus on a candidate’s passion for the profession of speech-language pathology and interest/experience in the field. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. Sports Science Students interviewing for Dual Admission to the Master of Science in Sports Science program will interview with the Program Director in the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences, either one- on-one or in a small group of three or less and will have the opportunity to visit research facilities including both The Sports Performance and Gait Science Laboratory and The Fight Science Laboratory. The students will then be questioned to focus on the candidate’s experience, basic knowledge of the chosen field, and passion for the profession. The interview session will last approximately 30 minutes. All application materials will be reviewed in advance. Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Scholars Programs Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Global Students interviewing for Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Global will meet in the Horvitz Administration Building in the downstairs CAPS Office. The interview experience will be 1 hour, including a 20-minute info session, a group task, and an individual interview. Interviewees will have the opportunity to meet current students and the leadership from the Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Global program. The questions and activity will focus on global awareness, global engagement, previous global experiences, communication skills, teamwork, and how candidates will impact the university community. Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Leadership Students interviewing for Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Leadership will have the opportunity to meet current HochbergMiniaci Razor’s Edge Leadership students and the advising professional and graduate assistant staff during their visit. Professional staff members from the Division of Student Affairs, a graduate assistant, and one current Hochberg-Miniaci Razor’s Edge Leadership students will conduct group process activities and roundtable interviews. The questions will focus on leadership, communication skills, teamwork, and how candidates will impact the university community. The interview session will last approximately 60 minutes.
