National Center of Academic Excellence The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have certified NSU’s curricula in information security for compliance with the requirements of NSA national training standards. As a result of this recognition, federal agencies may sponsor civilian and military personnel to take the school’s certified graduate courses, and the school is authorized to issue certificates to students who complete such courses. Facilities to Support Hands-On Instruction Students learning to build mobile applications can do so in the Mobile Computing Laboratory (MCL), where research is conducted in various areas of mobile computing with an emphasis on designing software applications for mobile devices, including Android and iOS. The Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) and Secure and Robust Distributed Systems (SARDIS) laboratory conducts research in various areas of distributed systems with an emphasis on designing, implementing, and evaluating systems, protocols, and middleware. Home to Florida’s First Computer Museum The GSCIS Computer Museum exhibits trace the development of computer technology through the ages. It currently houses various computers, computer peripherals, and game consoles.
