In the 1980s, she started the first community college computer studies program in the United States. She is an author of hundreds of books, articles, editorials, book reviews, and presentations focusing on educational technology. Throughout her career, Abramson has mentored numerous students who continually state that she is an excellent teacher. One of her previous students even honored her by creating a scholarship in her name, available to other computing technology in education doctoral students.
