REIMAGINE TEACHER PREPARATION | $750,000 Educators must be engaged in reimagining education, utilizing technology in new ways, providing real world experiences, and having an international perspective. At the Fischler College of Education, we are working to reimagine the preparation of our undergraduate and dual enrollment programs to focus on STEM-prepared, experientally focused and internationally experienced educators. Opportunities include: • STEM Makerspace environment for all students • Supporting international educational opportunities • Sponsoring a named STEM professorship CENTER FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE | $1.5 MILLION Current university students are entitled to the best teaching in their classes. We aim to create an NSU center to support teaching and learning, promote professional development opportunities for faculty and staff members, and assist in online pedagogy and use of technology to enhance teaching. This center will support current and future NSU faculty members in becoming the best instructors possible. The center will promote professional development opportunities, create best practices in online and face-to-face teaching, and encourage effective use of technology in post-secondary education. Opportunities include: • Support for establishment and goals of the center • Naming the Center for Teaching Excellence • Scholarships for faculty hires with expertise • Graduate student internships EXPAND GRADUATE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES | $750,000 Graduate programs require revision to stay innovative, meet the needs of educational professionals, and offer opportunities for all students. The Fischler College of Education hopes to expand programs in the U.S. and internationally, delivering curricula in both English and Spanish, and creating a track for community college faculty members and administrators.
