DID YOU KNOW ? • NSU’s multi-specialty health clinics record approximately 250,000 visits annually. • NSU’s College of Dental Medicine runs the largest community dental clinics in Florida. • NSU’s dental clinics for individuals with special needs treat 35-40 patients daily. • NSU’s Speech Language Pathology Clinic averages 200 visits per week. • NSU’s Eye Care Clinic is one of the only clinics in Florida that uses an AdaptDx ® for early detection of age-related macular degeneration, helping slow the disease’s acceleration. • NSU’s collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to offering services for children and adults on the autism spectrum aligns centers across the university, including NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale; Unicorn Children’s Foundation Clinic; NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education; NSU’s Mailman Segal Center; and NSU programs for optometry, school psychology, and occupational therapy. • Approximately 75 percent of preschool students entering NSU’s Baudhuin Preschool are nonverbal when they enter but verbal by the time they leave. • The NSU Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center building houses three preeminent research institutes: NSU’s Guy Harvey Research Institute, the Save Our Seas Shark Center, and NSU’s National Coral Reef Institute.
