PROGRAM FAST FACTS PROGRAM OBJECTIVES • prepare leaders in the profession of physical therapy who can serve as change agents in the profession • address health issues through the life span • negotiate/advocate services for clients • educate clients and students • consult with organizations • contribute to the profession through research TARGET APPLICANTS This program is for physical therapists interested in obtaining skills needed for academic/research careers. The program seeks students who have qualities such as assertiveness, initiative, leadership, self-understanding, openness, and strong communi- cation skills. Students must also be motivated and self-directed critical thinkers. DELIVERY This distance hybrid program allows students to participate from anywhere in the world. Students come to our Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus twice a year, during winter and fall semesters. There is no on-campus time during the summer semester. ✔ TIP Students with a postprofessional doctoral degree, including a postprofessional Doctor of Physical Therapy (T-D.P.T.) from an accredited university, may transfer up to 6 credit hours, at the discretion of the program director.
