PERSPECTIVES • WINTER/SPRING 2013 38 Graduation 2012 Students celebrated their achievements at the Senior Graduation Dinner and Dance on August 24, 2012. Terry Morrow, Ph.D., assistant dean of student affairs, attended the event with M.H.S.-VS 2012 graduating student Erica Jean-Baptiste, who was recognized with the Shining Star Award for professionalism and patient care excellence by Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, she was recognized for her outstanding poster presentation during the NSU Health Professions Division’s Research Day held February 10, 2012. New Students Don White Coats On September 28, 2012, the college held a White Coat Ceremony to wel- come class of 2014 students into the vascular sonography fold. The use of the high-fidelity simulator in the Cardiovascular Sonography Program is believed to be the first in the world in an allied health degree program. All previous educational purchasers of the sim- ulator use it in the education of physicians.
