64 • NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY NSU News of Note NSU Earns Noteworthy Worldwide Ranking The Times Higher Education World University Rankings identified NSU as 1 of 20 universities in the world, and just 1 of 9 universities in the United States, that could “challenge the elite universities” and become globally renowned by the year 2030. Firetail, a higher education strategy consulting firm, identified these 20 institutions out of 346 originally considered. The elite 20 were selected because they have an opportunity to become a new generation of “challenger” universities that will quickly rise in rankings globally during the next 10 to 20 years. The rise will be due, in part, because of the institutions’ long-term visions and short- term execution strategies, as well as their understanding of the changing world and their roles in it. n
