Commencement 2013 NSU regional campuses throughout Florida were found celebrating the accomplishments of their students, faculty members, and alumni—not during the typical season of spring, but toward summer’s end. Friday, August 23 ushered in a weekend of celebration that began with a graduation dinner hosted at the main campus in Fort Lauderdale, where the Alpha Eta Society and the Nu Sigma Upsilon NSU chapter recognized outstanding individuals in the health sciences. Among the student inductees from the NSU Orlando regional campus were the following class of 2013 graduates: Kristina Alvarez Brittany N. Bradshow Adam S. Conn Meghan McCooey Cassandra N. Parra-Ferro Kirsten Reutebuch Nicole E. Smith Rebecca A. Smith Kindal A. Sweet LaShae N. Watkins Elizabeth K. Woodford The following faculty and alumni inductees from the PA Program at the Orlando regional campus were also acknowledged: Ingrid Pichardo, M.P.A.S., PA-C, Lorilee Butler, M.P.A.S., M.Ed., PA-C Melissa James, M.M.S., PA-C August 24 was a day filled with the excitement of graduation; a day when families and friends trekked to the Sunshine State to partake in one of life’s grandest milestones. It was a time to hear the emotionally stirring “Pomp and Circumstance” being played while spectators watched nervous graduates primp their hair and friends catch last-minute photos. Flashes from cameras, thunderous applause, and shouts of support emanating from the crowded bleachers were all familiar scenes as graduates walked across the stage to receive the rewards of their labor.
