Accreditation—Nursing Program The baccalaureate degree program in nursing/master’s degree program in nursing/Doctor of Nursing Practice and postgraduate A.P.R.N. certificate program at Nova Southeastern University’s Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). National Licensure and Certification Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)—NCLEX-R.N. Applicants to the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing (ACON) who meet all university and departmental requirements will be considered for admission. Final determination of eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses (R.N.) rests with the Florida Board of Nursing. The licensure application requires disclosure of any criminal history and the disposition of all cases prior to board review. Entry into the nursing program is the prospective student’s decision, based upon the knowledge students may, or may not, be granted a nursing license. Applicants will notify the program director and dean of any arrest record prior to and during enrollment in the NSU Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing and prior to application for licensure. The graduate is required to meet all reporting requirements of the Board of Nursing at the time of application to sit for the NCLEX-R.N. Florida Board of Nursing 4052 Bald Cypress Way BIN C-02 Tallahassee, FL 32399-3252 (850) 488-0595 M.S.N.—Advanced Practice Registered Nurse The curriculum in the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (A.P.R.N.) program prepares its graduates to provide advanced nursing care in the areas of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and become licensed by certification exam. Nurses who enter the A.P.R.N. programs must have a current, active registered nurse license with no restrictions in the state of Florida, and have graduated with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited school.
