NSU Mako Magazine Winter 2025

51 When I receive my Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology in the spring of 2025, I plan on doing many things, including continuing my role as a professor and getting the opportunity to teach students in the subjects I am most interested in. I also enjoy working with companies and providing them with information about the mind and brain to better assist them with reaching company goals. My personal philosophy is centered around personal improvement. And my passion for personal development is why I named my company Mastery Development. It is why I came to grad school—to push myself and inspire others to do the same. o Studying psychology and neuroscience gives me insight into the brain and human behavior. If I want to look people in the eyes and tell them I am here to help them make it through a challenging time, I need to be an expert. The benefit of learning psycho- logy and neuroscience is the ability to conceptualize the big picture, understand the risks individuals face, and determine a plan for helping people move forward despite the difficult situations they are experiencing.
