Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM)—Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine Program 2024–2025 292 Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine Program Academic Services Administration/Faculty Office Hours The KPCOM administration endorses an open-door policy and encourages students to meet with the appropriate administrator, either by walk-in, if available, or by appointment. Faculty members will be available during office hours, as stated in the syllabi, by email, and/or by appointment. Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine Program Office Any inquiries or concerns regarding the Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine Program and its curriculum may be directed through the Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine Program office, via phone at (954) 262-1032 or via email at dfamularo@nova.edu through the student’s assigned academic adviser or the program director. Students must access the program web page (osteopathic.nova.edu /certificates/graduate-certificate-in-social-medicine.html) and the student’s NSU email regularly for current information on the program, including the schedule and announcements. Academic Advising The goal of the academic adviser is to provide students with assistance to enable them to work toward obtaining the most from their educational experiences. The role of the academic adviser is to • provide the student with guidance, direction, and encouragement • monitor the overall progress of the student • direct the student to appropriate college or university resources • assist in planning a schedule of coursework • assist the student in identifying research areas to pursue during the student’s course of graduate study
