Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM)—Department of Couple and Family Therapy 2024–2025 275 Program Committees Admissions Committee This committee consists of the faculty members and the admissions counselor. The M.S., D.M.F.T., and Ph.D. program directors chair the committee for their respective programs. This committee reviews standards for admissions to the program, reviews application for admissions, reviews student recruitment plans, and monitors the implementation of policies and procedures related to admissions and student recruitment. The Admissions Committee recommends the most qualified candidates for admission. The Admissions Committee recommendations are made to the department chair. Curriculum Committee This committee consists of students, faculty members and program clinical supervisors (core and adjunct), alumni, and community representatives. M.S., D.M.F.T., and Ph.D. program directors chair the Curriculum Committee for their respective programs. The Curriculum Committee monitors the academic programs; reviews course structure, content, and delivery; approves course syllabi; reviews curricula; and makes recommendations that contribute to enhancing the academic program and maintaining high academic standards. Committee recommendations are made to the department chair. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee This committee consists of students, faculty members and program clinical supervisors (core and adjunct), alumni, and community representatives. A faculty member chairs the committee. The goal of this committee is to ensure compliance with COAMFTE Standard II: Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion - Programs demonstrate their commitment throughout the program to diversity and inclusion. This includes providing a multiculturally informed education that addresses a range of diversity; a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning climate; student experiences with diverse, marginalized, and/or underserved communities; and a commitment to the ethical and social responsibility to diverse, marginalized, and/ or underserved communities. Committee recommendations are made to the department chair. Brief Therapy Institute (BTI) Committee This committee consists of the BTI students, faculty members and program clinical supervisors (core and adjunct), BTI administrative team members, alumni, and community representatives. The BTI director chairs the committee. The committee reviews BTI policies and procedures, program initiatives, community-engagement activities, and protocols for graduate programs associated with BTI. Committee recommendations are made to the department chair.
