Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM)—Graduate/Professional Degree Programs 2024–2025 205 • For information regarding grade replacement and remediation for M.S. in Foundational and Integrated Medical Sciences students, refer to section 4. Course Remediation on page 283. Students must gain prior approval of the equivalency of the course before enrollment. In cases where students believe courses to be identical, although the course number or title may differ, it will be necessary to obtain validation from the department offering the course. Please note that the program follows the NSU Standards of Academic Progress (SAP) and the Grading Policy. Visit nova.edu/financialaid/eligibility/satisfactory-academic-progress.html for more information. Repeated coursework does affect SAP measures. All repeated courses must be counted toward the maximum time frame, which could negatively affect the student’s eligibility for financial aid. Questions regarding satisfactory academic progress should be directed to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (nova.edu/financialaid/eligibility/satisfactory-academic-progress.html). The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will not pay for repeated courses if the previous grade met academic standards. Students should direct questions to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. 5. Remediation Examinations and/or Coursework The student is responsible for reading each course syllabus and complying with the policies as stated. The examination and/or coursework policies will pertain to all makeup examinations. Remediation for failed courses will follow the Repeat Course/Grade Replacement and will be coordinated by the program director. Code of Conduct Students are required to know and adhere to both the college’s code of conduct and the university’s Code of Student Conduct and Academic Responsibility. The dean of the college has established the following code of conduct (the code), which shall apply to all students enrolled in the college. Students are expected to adhere to the Code of Ethics if relevant to their program. A Code of Ethic is a set of professional standards and expectations intended for practitioners in a particular field. KPCOM undergraduate and graduate programs shall act honorably and ethically. Dishonest, unethical, or other designated inappropriate conduct shall not be tolerated. It is not possible to enumerate all forms of inappropriate behavior, some of which could raise serious questions concerning a student’s ability to continue in the academic program. Below are the general rules and policies that shall apply to all students.
