Academic Standing The Office of the University Registrar compiles a transcript of each student’s academic record. A copy of this transcript is available to the student, the program director’s office, the dean’s office, the SPAC, the Office of Student Financial Assistance, and other individuals or facilities when authorized by the student, program director, or the dean. The transcript includes • grades earned (including remediated failures) • deficiencies (e.g., incompletes, failures, etc.) • semester grade point average (GPA) and cumulative GPA • honors (final transcript only, if indicated) • withdrawal and/or leaves of absence A student is considered in good academic standing when the student is not on probation or dismissal and also has a GPA equal to or greater than that required by the program. Students with a GPA of less than that required by the program will be placed on probation and will not be considered in good academic standing. A student who is not in good academic standing is at risk of not graduating. 1. Student Grades Most courses are graded based on letter grades A through F. Some courses may be graded on a Pass/ Fail (P/F) basis.
