Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM)—Osteopathic Medicine Program 2024–2025 136 Written-Petition Opportunity For three business days after the swap week, students who are still dissatisfied with their core campus assignment can, in writing, petition the dean for a change of assignment. These are submitted to the associate dean of Clinical Education who presents them to the dean. The dean has final authority over the granting of the written petition. Final Distribution of Assignments The final list of core campus site assignments will be distributed to the students after the writtenpetition opportunity. All assignments are considered final after this date. 3. M3 and M4 Core Rotations a. All Core Rotations, Other than Emergency Medicine Core rotations are assigned by the Office of Clinical Education in four-week blocks. Core rotations may not be changed by the student. An M3 core rotation may be exchanged with the M4 Emergency Medicine Core Rotation by administration of the Department of Clinical Education when a rotation availability issue arises. See Clinical Rotations/Core Clinical Campus above and the HPD Catalog for rotation information. If the student calls the clinical site in an attempt to change a core rotation assignment, the student will be referred to the KPCOM Student Progress Committee, and a disciplinary action may be taken, up to, and including, dismissal from the college. b. During those four weeks, students must comply with the duty times offered by the site/preceptor but must complete, at minimum, 14 12-hour shifts to fulfill requirement.
