T he lesson that led Abraham “Abe” Fischler, Ed.D., to be- come one of the nation’s most successful and respected leaders in education wasn’t taught to him in the class- rooms of Columbia University, where he earned his doctoral degree in education. And he didn’t learn it as a professor at the University of California—Berkeley or Harvard University. Rather, his philosophy on life and education was instilled in him long before his 22 years as the second president of Nova South- eastern University.
