10 NSU HORIZONS TRANSFORMATIONAL GIFTS CLOSE CAMPAIGN In honor of the first of the two gifts—$25 million from the Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel Family Foundation—NSU has renamed the allopathic medicine college to the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine (NSU MD). The gift will also provide scholarships for medical students and support for the operation of the college. This donation came on the heels of the foundation’s previous financial commit- ment of $200 million, which included a $50-million gift and an additional $150 million in real estate investment for a future medical-education complex.
