(CHI) is a nonprofit health care company with 10 health centers and 42 school-based health centers. CHI started out more than 40 years ago as a beacon of hope for the uninsured and those with no access to med- ical care. It has grown into a high-quality comprehensive care company with behavioral health, primary care, pediatrics, women’s services, dental, radiology, pharmacy, labo- ratory, and much more. CHI has a large, diverse population of patients with dozens of cultural backgrounds, languages and beliefs, income levels, and serves both the in- sured and uninsured. CHI believes in developing the next generation of doctors and has invested in growth and the community through its Brodes H. Hartley Jr. Teaching Health Center at CHI. It boasts a stellar faculty and a highly competitive and intensive program. The residency program is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and CHI is accredited by the Joint Commission and recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assur- ance as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home. INSTITUTIONAL INFORMATION POSTDOCTORAL PROGRAMS Residencies • Family Medicine • Psychiatry • Obstetrics and Gynecology BENEFITS OFFERED • Stipend for continuing medical education and educational materials • Funding for support emergency medicine procedure course • Examinations: COMPLEX III or USMLE Step III reimbursement • American Osteopathic Association (AOA) membership as applicable • Resident shall be entitled to 20 calendar days of vacation. • Access to graduate medical education facilities located at CHI campus and access to NSU-COM libraries via the Web • Health insurance—medical coverage is provided to resident at a reduced cost. • Dental insurance—employee family plans provided at a reduced rate. • Life insurance at no cost for the resident in the amount of a one-time annual base salary. Supplemental life insurance coverage is available as well as family supplemental coverage at an additional cost. • Long- and short-term disability insurance available at an additional cost. • Medical professional liability coverage provided for all house staff (residents) officers performing within the scope of their duties. Includes legal defense and protection against awards from claims reported or filed after the completion of the program(s) if the alleged acts or omissions of the residents are within the scope of their program(s). • Resident will be covered by statutory workers compensation coverage for all injuries, accidents, and illnesses that arise in the course and scope of their employment. • Residents are provided meals while on duty and while on call. • On-call rooms will be provided for residents scheduled to be on call. • Miscellaneous—free parking, uniform allowance (two jackets in one year), CHI recreational activities, ATM machine service, cafeteria STATISTICS Fiscal Year 2013: • 290,000 patient visits per year
