For over 60 years it has led the way with innovative programs that include • immunizations for children • parental education in child care • environmental public health • prevention surveillance—communicable and chronic disease The many and varied core programs include communicable disease prevention and control, environmental public health, school health, community health, dental health, preparedness, maternal child health, and health education. In addition, the department co-operates four primary care clinics with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, providing millions of services annually under the Federally Qualified Health Center Standards. Co-located within these centers are WIC, dental, maternity, family planning, nutrition, immunizations, C.L. Brumback primary care clinics, and the network volunteer programs.
