50 2013 Conference on Global Leadership, Learning, and Research Concept Paper Roundtable ARC Dissertation Chairs, and Students Thursday, July 18 8:00–10:00 a.m. Fantasia Ballroom H–J In a roundtable format, students present their research concept including the problem statement, purpose statement, research questions, and other developed concept components. Scholarly engagement with colleagues and the chair targets project organization and justification, research questions, analysis, and data-collection strategies and feasibility. From the feedback, each student will create a concept refinement agenda for further concept development. Among the aspects of APA style that may be examined are organization, writing style, reducing bias in language, the mechanics of style, tables and figures, and crediting sources (including quoting, citing references in text, and the reference list). Students must bring a paper copy of the concept paper or proposal (or a sampling of pages) to these one–on–one, prearranged meetings. It will review all options that are available to students, such as workshops and individual meetings with their dissertation chair. A crucial aspect of this presentation is to guide each student to select the best and most appropriate conference agenda given the stage and type of dissertation that is being developed. Finally, the professor will accompany students to the Student Expo—Emerging Scholarly Research and Poster and Networking Session.
