The Graduate Certificate in Medical Informatics is designed to enable them to acquire the core knowledge that applies to medical informatics fundamentals, principles, and practice. These certificates consist of 18 credits of graduate-level courses presented using online technology. NSU-KPCOM’s Graduate Certificate in Functional Nutrition and Herbal Therapy is designed for practicing health professionals to embrace the tenets of functional nutrition in a systems-based approach to whole-person wellness. Innovative courses, delivered through synchronous meetings online, will highlight the functionality of body systems, etiology of diseases, toxic reactions of herbs, interactions with medications, herbal therapy, dietary approaches to imbalances in the body, and the roles of healthcare professionals in educating patients. This graduate certificate provides 15 credits designed to complement a base of professional competencies, and it can be completed in as little as one year. NSU-KPCOM’s Graduate Certificate in Social Medicine applies principles and teaching processes and measures the competency of physicians. It is designed to address these needs and enhance the learning experiences for residents to achieve program competencies. Medical residents and program directors will collaborate with their knowledge and skills in this program. This certificate consists of 15 credits of graduate-level courses presented using online learning technology. NSU-KPCOM’s Graduate Certificate in Family Studies trains individuals who want additional family systems knowledge for their work with families in a variety of contexts, such as healthcare professionals, educators, community organizers, legal professionals, childcare workers, or EAP counselors. Human relations professionals, business managers, or supervisors, among many others, would also benefit from the application of systemic family principles to their efforts. The curriculum includes coursework on systemic thinking in family studies and topics in human and family systems development. Students may enroll full or part time, taking 3 to 9 credits per term. Students can expect to complete the graduate certificate program in 10–15 months, depending on the pace of study. NSU-KPCOM’s Graduate Certificate in SolutionFocused Coaching in the college’s family therapy program is nationally and internationally known for expertise in solution-focused therapy, which is an excellent fit with the brief, goal-oriented nature of personal coaching. The college offers this certificate to those seeking a career as professional personal coaches. The program may be completed within a year’s time, depending on the pace of study, and all courses are offered with an online option.
