The M.S. in Education concentrations include Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology; Educational Leadership; Computer Science Education; Elementary Education; Exceptional Student Education; Mathematics Education; Reading Education; Science Education; Spanish Language Education; and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). The M.S. curricular offerings are generally delivered through a convenient online format. Some of the M.S concentra- tions are delivered in a blended modality in certain locations in Florida and internationally. The Ed.S. in Education concentrations include Curricu- lum, Instruction, Management, and Administration; Educational Leadership; and Mathematics Education. The Ed.S. curricular offerings are delivered through a combination of online and blended options. The Ed.D. in Education includes concentrations in Curriculum and Teaching, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Leadership, Instructional Leadership, Instructional Technology and Distance Education, Organizational Leadership, Reading, Human Services Administration, and Special Education. The Ed.D. in Education combines the benefits of a common core of research, content-area specializations, and an Applied Dissertation or the Strategic Research Project—a critical analysis of the student’s organization. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES Programs include a B.S. in Child Development and a B.S. in Human Services Administration, an M.H.S. in Child Protection, and an M.S. in Developmental Disabilities. The B.S. in Child Development prepares students with a working knowledge of typical and atypical development from birth through adolescence and an understanding of the influence of familial, cultural, socioeconomic, and other factors on developmental progression and child and adolescent well-being. The B.S. in Human Services Administration provides students with an understanding of administration, public policy, ethics, and practice in the field of human services. Students can choose a concentration centered on children, adults, or manage- ment. The Master of Human Services (M.H.S.) in Child Protection provides competency-based child protective services instruction aimed at closing the gap between ground-level, on-the-job training and scientifically grounded best practices. The M.S. in Developmental Disabilities is designed to prepare researchers, advo- cates, administrators, and policy makers to be leaders in community-based or governmental agencies that address the confluence of issues associated with developmental disabilities throughout the life spans. Upon completion of this program, students can pursue certification as a behavior analyst (with the Applied Behavior Analysis concentration) or a Child Life Specialist (with that concentration). In addition to the degree programs, FCESCJ offers several nondegree and specialized support programs through the Department of Human Services and the Autism Institute. • The Access Plus program is an intensive college- support program for undergraduate students with autism spectrum disorder. This program provides services to academically capable students to support academic achievement, independent living skills, and campus life engagement opportunities.
