Nova Southeastern University | 7 CURRICULUM OVERVIEW D.H.Sc. students can select one of the following four concentrations 1. global health 2. education for the health care professions 3. telehealth 4. generalist All require a minimum of 55 hours of coursework. During the course of study, students must complete a practicum and internship ap- proved by the D.H.Sc. program director and practicum faculty members in an area of health care including, but not limited to, health care leadership, education, policy, or delivery. Students selecting a concentration should focus their internship and practicum work in their chosen concentration area. The internship is used to expose the student to an area of health care not commonly experienced in the student’s normal area of practice. ✔ TIP Though two separate portions of the curriculum, the internship may be used as an area of research in preparation for undertaking the practicum. At the standard pace established by the program, the course of study can be completed in three years. All coursework must be completed within seven years.
