Number of hours per week required: DESCRIBE SPECIFIC SITE REQUIREMENTS: SHORT PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (250 words or less): CLINICAL DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM Client Population(s): Treatment Modality: Assessment Types: Theoretical Orientation: The Miami VAHS Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (PRRTP) provides state-of-the-art, high quality residential rehabilitation and treatment services for veterans with serious mental illnesses, addictions and/or psychosocial deficits. The program is designed with a variable length of stay so that the transition to outpatient services and community integration varies according to the individual veteran’s needs. Rehabilitation and treatment services address: 1) Building a more meaningful life in the context of medical conditions, mental illnesses, addictions and psychosocial difficulties; 2) Transitioning to safe, affordable, and appropriate community housing; and 3) Assisting veterans to choose, access, and utilize the community and natural supports needed to be independent, self-supporting, and successful in their individual recovery. In support of these goals, the program offers comprehensive recovery oriented services and evidenced-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and Treatment of Addictions and Relapse Prevention. In addition, the PRRTP offers activities to promote physical health and wellness and independent self-management of medications. The faculty of the PRRTP is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of professionals that work collaboratively with veterans to assist them in accomplishing their goals. The interdisciplinary team is comprised of: a Psychiatrist/Medical Director, Psychologist/Program Director, additional Psychologists, Peer Support Specialist, Primary Care Physician, Registered nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses with 24/7 coverage, Mental Health Rehabilitation Technicians, Clinical Dietetic Technician, Social Worker, Recreation Therapist, Music Therapist, Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, Chaplain, and Clinical Pharmacist. ✔ EL: 20 hours Mandatory Training Sessions: Trainings vary, but are easily completed online. Require Medical Center mandatory training, most of which can be completed online prior to training. Required Training Prerequisites: Attendance at specific meetings: Arranged with each supervisor. Placement specific Other requirements: Must abide by federal VA requirements and guidelines especially with regard to patient privacy and confidentiality.
