Academic Standing The Office of the University Registrar compiles a transcript of each student’s academic record. A copy of this transcript is available to the student, the program director’s office, the dean’s office, the SPAC, the Office of Student Financial Assistance, and other individuals or facilities when authorized by the student, program director, or dean. The transcript includes • grades earned (including remediated failures) • deficiencies (incompletes, failures, etc.) • semester GPA and cumulative GPA • honors • withdrawal and/or leaves of absence A student is considered in good academic standing when he or she is not on administrative leave of absence, probation, or dismissal and also has a grade point average (GPA) equal to or greater than 3.0. Students with a GPA of less than 3.0 will be placed on probation and will not be considered in good academic standing. A student who is not in good academic standing is at risk of not graduating. 1. Student Grades Most courses are graded based on letter grades A through F . Some courses may be graded on a Pass /Fail ( P/F ) basis.
