Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM)—Department of Public Health 2021–2022 204 23. Concurrent Degree Programs HPD students have an opportunity to pursue a Master of Public Health concurrently, with schedules that allow students the opportunity to achieve both degrees within a three- to four-year scope of time, while meeting the requirements of both degrees. This pathway is achievable for students in the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental Medicine, Optometry, and Health Care Sciences. Students must be in good academic standing. B. Academic Standing The Office of the University Registrar compiles a transcript of each student’s academic record. A copy of this transcript is available to the student, the program director’s office, the dean’s office, the Student Progress and Advising Committee, the Office of Student Financial Assistance, and other individuals or facilities when authorized by the student, program director, or the dean. The transcript includes • grades earned (including remediated failures) • deficiencies (incompletes, failures, etc.) • semester GPA and cumulative GPA • honors (final transcript only, if indicated) • withdrawal and/or leaves of absence A student is considered in good academic standing when he or she is not on administrative leave of absence, probation, or dismissal and also has a grade point average (GPA) equal to or greater than 3.0. Students with a GPA of less than 3.0 will be placed on probation and will not be considered in good academic standing. A student who is not in good academic standing is at risk of not graduating. 1. Student Grades Most courses are graded based on letter grades A through F . Some courses may be graded on a Pass /Fail ( P/F ) basis.
