accepted an invitation to serve
as a peer reviewer for the
International Institute for Ap-
plied Knowledge Management
Conference, which will be held
June 25-28, 2014, at The Ameri-
can University in Blagoevgrad,
Bulgaria. The international
conference is a platform for
current research and investiga-
tion concentrating on knowl-
edge management used in
academia, industry, and gov-
ernment to improve, advance,
and sustain overall quality.

OMS-I Devin Collins
was
one of two students selected
from the 18 colleges and
centers at NSU to speak at the
university’s Fellows Society
Induction Ceremony held
October 15 in the Miniaci
Performing Arts Center on
campus. The event honors
individuals and organizations
that have contributed at least
$50,000 to the university. Col-
lins was chosen based on his
strong résumé and successful
in-person interview.

Nicole Cook, Ph.D., M.P.A.

assistant professor of public
health, was featured in a CBS4
News report on November 20.
The segment included inter-
views with Dr. Cook about
findings from an NSU micro-
biology professor’s work with
students and CBS4, which
tested items we touch and use
every day to evaluate levels of
bacteria. The informative four-
minute segment illustrated the
levels of Staphylococcus au-
reus bacteria on smart-phone
screens and tablet cases used
by office workers.
