Patel Col- lege of Osteopathic Medicine (KPCOM) students with various insights into how similar we all are on the inside—full of veins, bones, and the many other compounds that make us human. As a society, however, we are living in times where one must look at the surface and not turn a blind eye toward the obvious racial injustices occurring due to the pigment of one’s skin. KPCOM students are aware of this and recognize the need for change, as seen in their advocacy, social media posts, and personal testimonies regarding racial discrimination. While this type of solidarity can be uplifting, the students knew it was time to take further action when police violence against people of color continued to escalate.
