Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences (PCHCS) 2024–2025 111 • satisfactorily complete the program of study required for the degree (122 semester hours) with a minimum grade of C (75 percent) in each occupational therapy course • successfully complete clinical internships and residency within 24 months of completion of didactic courses • fulfill all financial and library obligations to the university Dual-Degree Postprofessional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (Dr.O.T.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program • be of good moral and ethical character • satisfactorily complete 34 credits for the Dr.O.T. program and 62 credits for the Ph.D. program (the 34 Dr.O.T.-level credits and the 28 Ph.D.-level credits) within eight years from initial matriculation into the program • complete the capstone course series OCT 7910 and 7920, including a capstone residency and project • complete capstone and dissertation specifically approved to meet NSU’s doctoral program • complete the program of study required for the degree with a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a minimum grade of B (80 percent) in all required and elective coursework • successfully pass the entire qualifying process and examination within one year from completion of core courses • successfully defend the dissertation before a dissertation committee within eight years from the first day of classes • present capstone at Capstone Consortium • submit documented evidence that dissertation research will be, or has been, presented or published in a peer-reviewed venue at the state, national, or international level • satisfactorily meet all financial and library obligations • submit dissertation to Clarivate/ProQuest for publishing • Dr.OT degree can be awarded upon completion of 34 Dr.O.T.-level credits Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Occupational Therapy • be of good moral and ethical character • complete a minimum of 61 credits of graduate coursework, dissertation, and residency specifically approved to meet NSU doctoral program requirements within seven years from initial matriculation into the program • complete the program of study required for the degree with a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a minimum grade of B (80 percent) in all required and elective coursework
