Nova Southeastern University | 5 PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND OUTCOMES PROGRAM OVERVIEW NSU’s Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) establishes audiologists in a clearly defined and prominent role within the hearing health care delivery system and strengthens their position as autonomous practitioners. The degree provides the academic foundation and diverse clinical experiences necessary to enter professional practice today and to stay abreast in the future. NSU Au.D. students enroll in a clinically focused professional doctoral program and complete a rigorous academic curriculum to augment and expand upon their current knowledge and skills in the field of audiology. PROGRAM OUTCOME The graduate earning an Au.D. from the audiology program will be able to 1. demonstrate assessment methodology and the interpretation of assessment results with a variety of clinical populations 2. develop and implement a plan for audiological management and treatment based on clinical diagnostic data with a variety of clinical populations 3. collaborate and/or counsel effectively with patients, family members, care givers, and other professionals 4. evaluate and critically apply current research to determine and enhance clinical efficacy 5. demonstrate ability to assume a leadership role in business practices and supervision 6. apply appropriate technologies to accomplish research, diagnosis, management, and treatment
