The Bookstore Advance Purchase Program (BAPP) allows financial aid recipients to use approved financial aid funds in excess of the charges on their student account to purchase books and supplies from the Nova Southeastern University Bookstore before their scheduled financial aid disbursement date.
Note: Gold Circle Emergency Loans will not be approved for book purchases.
BAPP enrollment will typically be open for one month prior to the start of the semester. You must submit your application by the end of the enrollment period. You can find out the specific BAPP enrollment dates on the NSU Bookstore's Announcements page.
Complete the online BAPP form. The form will only be available during the specified BAPP enrollment period.
If funds are available on your student account, you can request to have up to $1000 reserved for use at the NSU Bookstore. After successful submission of the BAPP Form, your credit will be available at the bookstore the next business day. If you submit your BAPP Form on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, your credit will be available the next business day.
If your approved financial aid award does not exceed your total costs you will receive an error message while attempting to complete the BAPP Form. In this case, you will not be able to submit the form.
NSU is required to make all or a part of a Pell Grant-eligible student's anticipated Title IV credit balance available in time for the student to purchase books and supplies by the seventh day of the payment period. By not signing up for the BAPP when eligible, a student is voluntarily opting-out of this program which grants him or her early access to financial aid funds for the purchase of books and supplies. Students with a Title IV credit balance who opt-out of BAPP will receive their financial aid refund within 14 days of the date that the credit balance was created on their NSU student account.
Title IV funds are federal financial aid grant, work-study, and loan funds in the following programs: Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, Federal Direct Subsidized Loan, Perkins Loan, Graduate Plus Loan, Parent Plus Loan, Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Teacher Educational Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, and Federal Work-Study.
All eligible financial aid recipients will receive an email notification that the form is available. You can also find the dates that the form will be available on the bookstore's website.
You may access your financial aid status by logging into SharkLink. You may also call the Office of Financial Aid at (954) 262-3380 or toll-free at 800-806-3680.
If you do not meet all of the BAPP eligibility requirements, you may not be able to access the BAPP Form, and you will receive one or multiple of the following error messages:
If you need further assistance, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at (954) 262-3380 or 800-806-3680.
Your BAPP funds will be valid through the end of the BAPP charging period. Each request is valid for one semester only and does not carry over from term to term.
Any unused BAPP funds will be credited back to your student account. If this results in a credit balance on your account, you will receive a refund from the University Bursar's office.
Yes. You can use your BAPP funds to pay for the textbook rental fee at the NSU Bookstore for any textbook rental. However, you will be required to have a valid credit card on file with the bookstore for any damaged or lost rental books.
Typically, the BAPP charging period will close at the end of the drop/add period. You can find specific dates on the Bookstore's Announcements page.
