The Office of Undergraduate Student Success provides resources to support your success and graduation from Nova Southeastern University.

Five Tips to Succeed in an Online Course:

  • Confirm technical requirements.
    • Make sure you have the right devices to be successful in the course. Consult with OIT for help.
  • Connect with instructors early.
    • Email your professors to introduce yourself. If possible, make an appointment during their office hours to speak to them in person or over the phone.
  • Create a schedule.
    • Your online course should be treated like a residential course as you should have a specific times and days that you log on.
  • Stay organized.
    • Make sure you know due dates, group chats and lectures occur.
  • Have a consistent workplace.
    • You should use the same device and location.

Building your personal brand is developing skills, gaining experience and finding ways to prepare yourself for the future.  You can build  your brand by:

  • Visiting the Office of Career Development for resume writing advice, internship searches, and career workshops.
  • Gaining out of classroom and leadership experience by contacting the Office of Student Activities and joining an organization.
  • Discussing which major is right for you with your Academic Advisor
  • Building your network by shadowing, attending conferences, reaching out to faculty, staff and other students, or reaching out to professionals in the community
  • Learning more effective research skills by meeting with a Librarian
  • Practicing your Elevator Speech
