Peer Gynt: Momentum Dance CompanyThestory is drawn from Henrich Ibsen’s play and the music is on the Scandinavian composer Edvard Grieg’s most famous compositions. Spectacular costumes by Marilyn Skow complete this exciting adventure in dance! This program is sponsored by the Charles P. Ferro Foundation.

 

 


Saturday June 21: Magical Steam Punk Time Travel Show

Jules Verne meets Bill Nye! If you like magic, science fiction, comedy, and cool gadgets, then you will love the Magical Steampunk Time Travel Show created by world-renowned magician, James Changefield! Follow the adventures of Professor Preston Prestidigitator as he demonstrate the gadgets and gizmos that he has acquired through his travels. This show is age appropriate for K-6th grade and involves science demonstrations and optical illusions that are both illustrated and taught.


Saturday June 28: Doodles & His Science Kit Dog

Doodles is a lonely clown who builds his own dog from a science kit. Adventure abounds with an attempted dog-napping, a chase, and a dramatic rescue!

Self-esteem, courage and friendship are central themes in this original upbeat show created by master puppeteer, Bob Nathanson and his troupe Puppets to Go!

Jazz in the Gallery: RZ Surfaces in Concert

RZ Surfaces is a contemporary jazz quartet lead by jazz drummer/composer Rodolfo Zuniga. The group is composed of Dave Fernandez on Saxophone, Eric England on bass, Clay Perry on Fender Rhodes piano, and Rodolfo Zuniga on drums. They perform all original compositions by Rodolfo Zuniga, and with the promotion of their first album called “ Surfaces” they have been able to tour Central and South America. They will be performing new music for an upcoming album in the fall of 2014.

Stories to be Told: Your Ancestral Research. GSBC Program.
Sunday, June 1: 12:00 PM -4:00 PM

Presented by GSBC President, Harriett Brooke, a special program where you will hear about unique ancestral stories, learn about research tools and techniques it took to find the family stories and perhaps see a few old photos of family members.
The Genealogical Society of Broward County meets monthly at the NSU Alvin Sherman Library on the first Sunday of every month. Meetings begin with an open lab from noon to 2 PM followed by a board meeting and program. Meetings are open to the public.
